Use this guide as a starting point for applying Perfect Print DTF transfers. Heat presses, garments, films, and fabrics vary, so test when possible and follow any instructions included with your order.
Recommended starting settings
- Temperature: 300–320°F
- Time: 10–15 seconds
- Pressure: Medium to firm, even pressure
- Pre-press: 3–5 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles
How to apply your transfer
- Preheat your heat press and verify its temperature.
- Pre-press the garment for 3–5 seconds.
- Place the transfer with the printed side facing the garment and the film facing up.
- Press using the starting settings above.
- Let the transfer cool according to the instructions for your film before peeling.
- Cover the design with parchment paper or a finishing sheet and press again for 3–5 seconds.
Peeling tips
Peel slowly and evenly. Do not force the film away from the design. If part of the transfer lifts, lay the film back down and repress for a few seconds before peeling again.
Fabric notes
Cotton, polyester, blends, and specialty fabrics can react differently to heat. Check the garment care label first. For a heat-sensitive garment, test a safe setting before pressing the finished piece.
Aftercare
- Wait at least 24 hours before the first wash when possible.
- Wash inside out in cold or warm water.
- Avoid bleach and harsh detergents.
- Tumble dry low or hang dry for best longevity.
- Do not iron directly over the printed design.
